Porto Palma

Porto Palma’s beach is located on a large bay in the island of Caprera’s south-west coast. It features large-grained gold and reddish sand and some bright granite rocks covered by the Mediterranean low green scrub. The sea that bathes its shore has a beautiful green and light blue color with turquoise reflections. The sandy seabed is shallow for a long stretch and full of fishes that are typical of the Mediterranean Sea.

Montebello21 ✓ Alert At the end of the long cove overlooking the Caprera Sailing Center, a free Doggie Beach has been set up; it is managed by the volunteers of Arvepana Onlus Association. Access is allowed only to dogs with health documentation and it’s open to tourists every day from 9.00am to 7.00pm. Administrative penalties, set by Regional Regulations and Navigation Code, start from a minimum of 500,00€. It’s forbidden to smoke and use single-use plastic on all the beaches of the Archipelago. Administrative penalties start from a minimum of 25,00€.

Montebello21 ✓ Anchor Boaters’ access to the beaches is only allowed by rowing boats, using the appropriate corridors and for the time necessary to disembark people or things.
