The Relitto Beach on Caprera Island ~ La Maddalena Archipelago

Relitto (wreck) beach is located on the island of Caprera’s south side and takes its name from an old collier that was stranded many decades ago on its shoreline. There’s still a chance to find small traces of it, despite the currents and corrosion. The beach is made of a particularly fine and soft sand that has a creamy color. The sea that bathes the shore is quite clear and has a wonderful emerald green color that slightly fades into light blue shades.

Beach also accessible to the disabled.

The beach has been awarded with a Blue Flag for the eco-sustainable management of the territory.

It’s forbidden to light fires, collect or remove flora and fauna (terrestrial and marine), sand, rocks and shells. Administrative penalties, set by Regional Regulations and Navigation Code, start from a minimum of 500,00€. It’s forbidden to smoke and use single-use plastic on all the beaches of the Archipelago. Administrative penalties start from a minimum of 25,00€.

Boaters’ access to the beaches is only allowed by rowing boats, using the appropriate corridors and for the time necessary to disembark people or things.
